Utility of Olfactory Training in patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps
The objective of this study is to determine the effect of olfactory training after Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) on olfactory dysfunction (OD) in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP) measured by objective olfactory testing. We hypothesize that olfactory training has a positive effect on OD in patients with CRSwNP after surgery.
Eligibility Criteria
- Inclusion/Exclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Patients who are 18 years of age or older. Bilateral CRSwNP phenotype with no other sources of nasal obstruction known Good surgical candidate for FESS Exclusion criteria: Patients who are unwilling to comply with post-operative follow up and olfactory training guidelines
