(SASS) Randomized trial of Single-incision versus Retropubic Mid-Urethral Sling (Solyx™) for Concomitant Management of Stress Urinary Incontinence during Minimally Invasive Sacrocolpopexy, Sacrohysteropexy

The purpose of this study is to compare two different types of slings used to treat stress urinary incontinence (SUI). These slings treat SUI caused by pelvic organ prolapse. You will get the sling when you have surgery to correct this. Those who take part in this study will complete questionnaires at the time of their surgery and then over occasionally over the next five years.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Inclusion: Female 21 and older and able to give informed consent Documented stress urinary incontinence Considering/being considered for minimally invasive sacrocolpopexy (SCP) Considering/being considered for Sacrohysteropexy Exclusion: Prior surgery for stress urinary incontinence or other bowel/genitourinary surgery planned Any serious disease, or chronic condition, or untreated/unresolved urinary tract infection Neurogenic bladder, prior pelvic radiation, inflammatory bowel disease Pregnant or planning to conceive
