Newborn Biorepository
Using this biorepository, we are interested in harvesting samples from patients that may help to inform diseases associated with preterm birth. The analysis of these samples may reveal markers of disease or help predict who will go on to develop (or be protected from) certain diseases. We will collect one of the following: umbilical cord blood, stool sample, urine, saliva, and/or tear fluid.
Eligibility Criteria
- All newborns who are delivered at Augusta University Medical Center are eligible for enrollment. Additionally, all infants who are transferred to Augusta University Medical Center may be eligible to participate in some aspects of the study. Presently, there are no exclusion criteria for participation in the biobank.
