We are a member of Augusta University’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), a multidisciplinary team dedicated to raising awareness of sexual assault prevention
and response.

Medical Forensic Examination
For Sexual Assault
- General Physical Examination
- Collection of Forensic Evidence (Sexual Assault Kit) *(if patient chooses this option)
- Time frame of evidence collection is 120 hours for adolescent/adult patients in Georgia.
- Can include photography of injuries, collection of swabs and clothing for DNA
- Evaluation/Treatment for STI’s
- Evaluation/Treatment for Pregnancy (pregnancy test and emergency contraception options
if needed/applicable)
- Discharge/Safety Planning/Follow-up Services
- Counseling/Mental Health/Psychiatry referrals
- Assistance with prescriptions if needed
- Follow up medical care and lab work
