The GACE Paraprofessional assessment is designed to enable individuals and school districts to satisfy state and federal No Child Left Behind requirements that call for "highly qualified paraprofessionals." It is a single test that consists of selected-response questions and is offered as an Internet-based test.

To register for the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, please follow the following instructions:

  • Complete a GACE Paraprofessional Registration form in Testing and Disability Services
  • Pay test fee (cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card). Registration payments are accepted by mail, but must be paid before the registration deadline. All applications must be received with the test fee in order to reserve a seat, seating is limited.

Parking

For Summerville, there is a ParkMobile $10 daily rate for Lot 105/Zone 9927. There is a $4 daily option at Lot 108/Zone 9923. Lots 105/108 are pretty similar in the walk to Galloway Hall. Testers can download the ParkMobile app or visit ParkMobile and search for Augusta University Summerville. Make sure to pay for parking or you could encounter a ticket. TDS will not be responsible for parking tickets.

In-Person Testing At Prometric Testing Centers

ETS expects in-person testing at Prometric Testing Centers will be available on July 31, 2022.

  • Test takers will be able to register online through Prometric’s website
  •  The test fee will be $68
  • Appointments can be rescheduled three or more days in advance of the original appointment for a fee of $34
  • Appointments can be cancelled three or more days in advance of the original appointment. A refund of $34 will be issued, as long as the appointment is cancelled at least three days in advance.

At Home Testing for Prometric

At Home testing is currently available and will continue to be available after the ParaPro iBT system is shut down.

  • Test takers can register online through Prometric’s website 
  • The test fee is $68
  • Appointments can be rescheduled three or more days in advance of the original appointment for a fee of $34
  • Appointments can be cancelled three or more days in advance of the original appointment. A refund of $34 will be issued, as long as the appointment is cancelled at least three days in advance.

  • As an alternative for test takers who are unable to take the ParaPro test at home and are unable to travel to one of the Prometric testing centers, the at home test can also be taken at another secure location (e.g., in a room at---- that meets the equipment and environment requirements for at home testing).
