Why I came to MCG: I loved the faculty on interview day and felt as if there was an incredible amount of support surrounding the residents, unique training opportunities, high acuity/high-volume ED, and good preparation to work in any type of environment post-residency.

Medical School: University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School

Profession Area of Interest: Pediatric EM, Ultrasound, Wilderness Medicine, EMS

Why I came to MCG: The residents were so welcoming, and the faculty take creating a positive culture around learning seriously. It was evident throughout my time here that they love what they do and work as a team. Not only was it closer to family for my wife and I but it also felt like a supportive community where could make a home. The complexity and diversity of patients within the Augusta area was also a huge draw because I know that I will be well prepared to confidently serve in both civilian and military settings while having great opportunities for fellowship after my training here.

Things I enjoy outside of Emergency Medicine: camping, rock climbing, playing guitar, movies , and searching for great coffee shops. I probably have stronger love for coffee and Christopher Nolan films than I should admit, but I take every chance I can to be outdoors (Local fave is the Canal trail or North Augusta Greenway)

Why I came to MCG: After just one month at MCG as a rotating medical student, it already felt like home. The patient volume, pathology, and acuity were exactly what I wanted for my training, but it was the people who made the decision easy. On Match Day, several residents and even an attending reached out to tell me how excited they were that I was joining the program, and it confirmed that MCG was exactly where I needed to be.

Things I enjoy outside of Emergency Medicine: Hanging out with my rescue pup Hazel, playing the ukulele, hiking, road-tripping, scuba diving, baking

Why I came to MCG:  I originally applied to MCG because of its strong EMS curriculum and fellowship.  Additionally, the high acuity and patient volume of MCG is hard to beat. During my interview I really enjoyed the culture of the program. When I made my rank list, I knew that this program would make me into the best physician I can be while having a solid group of seniors to guide me.

Things I enjoy outside of Emergency Medicine: Watching college football (Go Noles!), taking my golden retriever (Millie) on adventures with my fiancé, and cooking. Fun fact: I have a not so famous cooking Instagram where I post most of my baking and cooking projects.
