MS-DI Program Overview

The College of Allied Health Science's Master of Science in Allied Health with a Concentration in Nutrition with a dietetic internship (MS-DI) Program is a 21-month program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) . The program has a medical nutrition therapy (clinical) concentration that maximizes the unique variety of medical and healthcare facilities in the Augusta area.

Our program does not discriminate based on age, sex, color, race, handicap, or national or ethnic origin in recruiting or selecting its students or providing equal access to all services, benefits, and facilities.

Acceptance Rate: Each year, up to 16 graduate student interns will be admitted. The number of graduate student interns admitted will be based on availability of rotation sites/preceptors. Students are required to complete a Capstone Project. (This is a non-thesis MS program.) View the Master of Science in Allied Health with a Concentration in Nutrition degree plan. Graduate student interns will only be eligible to receive a verification statement upon the successful completion of the MS-DI program, including Capstone project and supervised practicum.

Applicant Ranking and Interview: Top applicants will be selected for telephone interviews. The interview will be approximately 15-20 minutes long. Applicants will be evaluated using standard criteria based on the following:

  • Academic performance
  • Work and volunteer experience in the field
  • Evidence of maturity, interpersonal skills, leadership potential, and self-direction
  • Quality of reference
  • Compatibility of applicant’s goals with the mission of our program
