Admission Policy
The program is obliged to follow the rules and guidelines established by Augusta University.
Consideration and acceptance of the interns is by a selected committee that will be
in compliance with the university, state and federal regulations and laws. The selection
committee includes the program director, nutrition faculty and preceptors. The application
of each intern will be viewed and considered individually, in compliance with the
protection of student civil rights.

from the intern’s record.
Academic Requirements
Minimum requirements for the Master of Science in Allied Health with a Concentration
in Nutrition with a Dietetic Internship (MS-DI):
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university.
- An original verification statement from an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). If the student is in process of completing a DPD program, the applicant may submit
a Declaration of Intent Form at time of application and the original verification
statement prior to enrollment.
- Overall GPA 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
- DPD Professional GPA 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
- GRE is not required for admission to this program.
- Recency of Education: Applicants must be able to demonstrate successful completion of coursework in advanced
nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessment and/or sufficient evidence
of clinical practice within the five years prior to the starting date of the internship.
The applicant must also submit a transcript indicating the grade received for this
course is completed. If currently enrolled, Declaration of Intent Form must be provided
by Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Director.
- TOEFL Score: English proficiency exam scores are required for applicants whose first language is
not English. Augusta University will accept official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test (IELTS) exam scores. Official exam scores must be taken within 2 years of the date of application.
The Augusta University institution code for submission of TOEFL or IELTS scores is
5406. Please do not select a department code.
- A TOEFL Minimum Overall Score: 550 paper-based, 79 internet-based or 213 computer-based
or IELTS Minimum Overall Band Score: 6.5
- Exemption from the TOEFL requirement is allowed for:
- Graduate students who submit proof of earning a baccalaureate degree from a regionally
accredited U.S. college/university where English is the language of instruction.
- Citizens of one of the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda Australia - Bahamas

- Submission to DICAS of the required dietetic internship application materials and
fee to dicas.liaisoncas.com by the February deadline.
- Submission of the D & D Digital computer matching preferences and fee by the deadline
for the spring match at dnddigital.com
- Submission of Augusta University’s Online Application for Graduate Programs
- Successful completion of an interview (upon invitation) with the selection committee.
Interviews will be conducted via telephone.
- Meet requirements for recency of education.
- Final transcript indicating the completion of a bachelor's degree or higher.
- Due to the competitive nature of the program, prospective applicants are strongly
encouraged to obtain prior nutrition/health work experience (volunteer or paid) .
Applicants should demonstrate their ability to be self-confident communicators, team
players, and self-directed learners in order to successfully complete the rigors of
the internship program.
