To help you build engaging and consistent pages, we have developed a variety of custom elements utilizing three core features of Modern Campus CMS: Snippets, Assets, and Components. While each tool allows you to display pre-formatted content, they function differently to meet various design and maintenance needs.
Snippets
A Snippet is essentially a pre-written block of HTML code that you can insert and then modify directly on your page. You can think of it as a template that you copy and paste; once it is added, it becomes unique to that specific page. Keep in mind that the final styling is often applied during the publishing process, so a Snippet may look different in your editor than it does on the live website.

Assets
Assets are ideal for content that needs to live in multiple places at once. Managed from a single central location, any update made to the original Asset will automatically flow out to every page where that Asset is used. This "edit once, update everywhere" approach is perfect for maintaining consistency across different sections of the site.

Components
Components provide a structured way to add complex design elements through a simple interactive form. This ensures that specific styling remains intact regardless of the text, images, or links you provide. While the content you enter is unique to that specific page, the web services team maintains the underlying structure. If we update a component’s framework—such as adding a new optional field—those structural improvements will automatically populate across the site without changing the content you’ve already created.
You can find all these snippets and many more under the puzzle icon at the top of the editor. Working with snippets is a great way to implement interesting elements and give you an easy user friendly way to edit infromation when needed. Below we provided examples of our most used snippets, the title above each is the name of the snippet.

Access a list of assets available to you by clicking the in the Editor. You can also look through assets by going to Assets under the Content menu. The most commonly used assets are calendar feeds but any snippet can also be placed in an asset to display the same content throughout the site. For instance, many sites will place their contact information snippet into an asset and drop that asset into the sidebar throughout their site. This way, they only have to update their contact information in one place instead of several.
The calendar embed can help auto populate a calendar feed that shows all your upcoming events that are in calendar. Make sure to use your department tag when creating events. You can use the calendar styles to stylize these feeds. Also through my augusta request access to skip approval process of events.
You can find all out components under the atom symbol in the editor menu at the top of the page. Components are a good way to add design elements to your site with an easy user friendly way to edit if needed. Below we provided examples of our most used components, the title above each is the name of the component.
