Workers' Compensation

All Augusta University employees are covered by state Workers' Compensation laws, which may provide medical and income benefits if you are injured on the job. Workers' Compensation also provides benefits to your dependents if you die as the result of a job-related illness or injury. Please review our procedures to follow if you are injured on the job. Procedures to Follow if Injured

Accident/Injury That Required Medical Attention

  1. Employee shall report accident/injury to their supervisor within 24 hours.
  2. Employee shall complete Section A of the Employee's Report of Accident/Injury and submit to their  supervisor.
  3. Employee shall complete Leave Election Form and return to Human Resources.
  4. Supervisor shall complete Section B of the Employees Report of Accident/Injury Form and submit to Wes Norton at wnorton@augusta.edu in Human Resources, Benefits & Data Management.
  5. Supervisor reports accident/injury to DOAS workers' compensation toll free number at 1-877-656-7475.

Accident/Injury That Did Not Medical Attention 

  1. Employee shall report incident to their supervisor within 24 hours.
  2. Employee shall complete Section A of the Incident Notice Only Form and submit to their supervisor.
  3. Employee shall complete Leave Election Form and return to Human Resources.
  4. Supervisor shall complete Section B of the Incident Notice Only Form and submit to Wes Norton at wnorton@augusta.edu in Human Resources, Benefits & Data Management.
