Students in Augusta University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program will complete 115 credit hours over eight semesters, including 32 weeks of clinical experience.
After successfully completing the program, graduates must pass the National Physical Therapy Examination to become licensed.

Experience-based Education
Full-time clinical education experiences help students develop and hone their clinical skills in the real-world settings they’ll encounter after graduation.
The Physical Therapy Student Association provides a variety of opportunities for students to participate in community service events.
The physical therapy program has an ultimate licensure pass-rate of 100% and an employment rate of 100%.
Students are eligible for a variety of different university-wide awards and scholarships as well as college and department-specific assistance.
Augusta University is the only public university in Georgia with an academic medical center and is one of only four public research universities in the state.

Your Future
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth for physical therapists is projected to rise much faster than average through 2031.
GPA: Minimum 3.0 (out of 4.0) cumulative GPA or 3.4 GPA over the last 40 hours of coursework completed; and minimum GPA of 3.0 in the prerequisite science/statistics courses.
Degree Requirement: A bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than physical therapy prior to enrollment, preferably from a regionally accredited US institution.
Transcripts: Official transcripts are required from all universities and colleges ever attended. Unofficial transcripts from US colleges and universities can be used in the admissions review process in lieu of official transcripts for this program.
Standardized Test Requirements: Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores: 145 verbal, 144 quantitative and 3.5 percentile in analytical.
Letters of Recommendation: Recommendations from three individuals must be submitted through the application portal.
Practical Experience: 70 hours of observational, volunteer or other work experiences in physical therapy setting.
International Students: Please review the verification process for international transcripts and the english proficiency requirement.
