Do I need a permit to park on campus?
Yes. All vehicles except patients and guests of patients need a permit to park on Augusta University property. (See last FAQ or student and employee guidelines for what to do when you have a doctor's appointment or hospital stay.)
I am having problems logging in to register my vehicle. What should I do?
You should be logging in to the >Parking Management Portal using your JagID and password (what you use to log in to email). If you are unable to log in, please contact the Information Technology Help Desk at 706-721-4000.

I currently have reserved parking and want to downgrade to non-reserved parking. What should I do?
Please contact the Parking Office at 721-PARK to change your parking permit status.
Where does the money I spend on parking go?
Parking permit revenue is used to create new parking, maintain existing lots and to provide support for staff and enforcement.
I am an evening student, do I still need a permit?
Yes. All students, faculty, and staff require an active permit to park on campus.
Why are there cones in the parking spaces?
Cones or other traffic control devices may be placed in a space when the space is dangerous for some reason, construction is planned, or a special event is taking place. Please do not move the cones without authorization. There is a $50.00 fine for moving cones without authorization.
I am an employee or student, but I have a doctor's appointment; I am a patient or I am visiting a patient. Am I allowed to park in patient parking during my appointment/visit?
Yes. Please print, complete and place this Courtesy Appointment Parking Pass on your dashboard during your appointment or visit. Also make sure your registered parking permit is visible. Be sure the courtesy pass can be easily seen and read from outside the vehicle in order to avoid a citation.
What do I do if I need parking for a special event?
To request special event parking or reserved spaces for department visitors, please send your request to ParkingOffice@augusta.edu
Effective July 1, 2022, the medical center parking lots and facilities will be managed by the Augusta University Health System (AUHS). This transition will have no effect on our students and patients. Augusta University (AU) and AUHS employees should review the information below to understand how this change might impact you.
Which type of permit will I need?
Your permit type will depend on your employment with either AU or AUHS. Non-Reserved permits are always available for AU employees. An AU Employee Non-Reserved permit provides access to university lots. AUHS employees are not eligible to purchase an AU Employee Non-Reserved permit or park in a university lot. AU employees who are medical providers at AUHS will continue to have the option for an AU or AUHS permit.
Can I register for both an AUHS permit and an AU permit?
Where will I go to get an AUHS permit?
Where does my permit allow me to park?
You can park in the lots that correspond with your permit type. For example, AU employees can only park in university lots. AUHS employees can park in their assigned AUHS lots. Please see map for reference.
I have an ADA license plate and/or placard. Where can I park?
Your affiliation with either AU or AUHS, determines where you can park with your ADA credentials. Those with an ADA license plate/placard may park in any ADA-marked space corresponding to their permit type. (Example: AU employees and students with ADA credentials may only use ADA spaces in university lots. AUHS employees with ADA credentials may only use ADA spaces in AUHS lots.)
Why all the changes?
Augusta University previously managed parking for the university and health system with different parking policies between the two entities. Now, AUHS will manage their lots and spaces for AUHS employees and patients. This transition will have minimal effect on students, patients, and most university employees’ parking experience.
What will happen if I am an AUHS employee and I park in an AU lot?
Per Augusta University’s parking rules and regulations, an AUHS employee that parks in an AU lot can be subject to fines, immobilization, and impoundment of their vehicle.
What will happen if I park in an AU lot without a permit?
Per Augusta University’s parking rules and regulations, any individual that parks in an AU lot without a permit can be subject to fines, immobilization, and impoundment of their vehicle.
