The Office of Student & Multicultural Affairs (OSMA) in the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University is dedicated to helping each student achieve his or her highest potential personally, professionally and academically by fostering a diverse, inclusive and student-centered community. The OSMA provides leadership in overseeing the progress of students throughout their medical school years by providing education, counsel and advice to help transform students into culturally competent, empathic, patient-centered and ethical physicians.
OSMA has ramped up its efforts to provide mental health and well-being programming during COVID-19. The MCG Wellness Newsletter is here and features a plethora of engaging content designed just for you.
Additionally, Music in Medicine has created Songs of Comfort as an outlet during these trying times. By coming together, and with a great deal of help from technology, Music in Medicine at MCG has developed a plan to share music that comforts during these turbulent times. Enjoy this first, of many, performances by our very own faculty and students.
Welcome to the Office of Student and Multicultural Affairs (OSMA)! We are dedicated to helping you reach your full potential personally, professionally and academically by building community and offering a strong infrastructure of innovative student services, programs and resources designed to support you in becoming culturally competent, empathetic, patient-centered and ethical physicians.
We will be by your side throughout your medical school journey, from Orientation through Graduation and beyond! For some of you, this journey started back in high school or college as you participated in our summer pipeline programs. For others, we may have met you on recruiting trips, interviewed you, hosted you during Second Look or inducted you into medical school at the White Coat Ceremony. Even after Match Day, Hooding and Graduation have passed and you are well into your residency or practice, we hope that you will stay in touch and involved as Alumni. We hope that this site will help you learn more about our many programs and initiatives. If you have any questions, ideas or concerns, please feel free to contact us or just stop by GB 3300!
