STAR Application

  • Complete and submit by the application deadline.
  • There is no application fee to submit a STAR application.
  • Please be thoughtful in composing your personal statement.
  • Please be sure to select if you are applying for the biomedical sciences, biostatistics or nursing STAR option.
  • Please note, the focus of the program is to prepare participants for research careers, not a clinical career.

College Transcript(s)

  • Transcript(s) from all undergraduate institutions attended are required.
  • Unofficial transcripts will be accepted.
  • Competitive applicants will have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
    • Unofficial transcripts may either be scanned pdf versions of your official transcript or a downloaded pdf version from your institution's online portal.
    • Transcripts are required from every college or university attended or attending.

      • all information and images on both the front and back of each page of your transcript including the transcript key/legend

    Email transcripts to STAR@augusta.edu

Note: The STAR program reserves the right to request/require an official transcript.

Letters of Recommendation (2)

After you submit your application:

  • Log in to your applicant status portal
  • Submit the names and current emails for 2 individuals that you have asked to serve as your recommenders

Note: at least one of your recommendations must be submitted from a current or recent professor.  Ideally, professors should be from courses related to the area to which you are applying [science, math/statistics or nursing].  If you have previous research experience, it is strongly advised that you ask your research mentor for a letter of recommendation.

Once you submit your recommender contact information, each recommender will receive an email notification directing them to the online site where they can complete their recommendation.

If you need to change a recommender, you can log back into the applicant status portal to do so.
