The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is a multidisciplinary professional degree emphasizing the practical aspects of public health. The program is designed to give both clinicians and non-clinical professional’s knowledge and skills in core public health competencies to promote the health of populations in today’s rapidly changing environment. Our MPH program develops professionals with the research skills to critically evaluate public health literature and put those results into practice. Not only do we prepare professionals to be leaders in evidence-based public health practice we also focus on patient-centered care and community health.

At Augusta University, you’ll find a comprehensive educational experience designed to prepare leaders who understand the important role of public health in today’s society and are equipped with critical-thinking, problem-solving, and information-management skills that improve health care delivery and promote public health. The MPH program is innovative and collaborative program with concentrations in health management and health informatics.

CONCENTRATIONS

HEALTH MANAGEMENT The MPH concentration in Health Management equips professionals with an interdisciplinary knowledge base and skill set for administrative and leadership positions in the increasingly complex health care and public health sectors.

HEALTH INFORMATICS  The MPH concentration in Health Informatics prepares students with requisite knowledge and skills to design, implement, analyze and manage information systems and technologies to improve the delivery of health care and public health practices as well as improve the quality and safety of patient care.
