Research Interests

Dr. Mori's research centers on discovering natural products and characterizing their biosynthesis to explore novel clinical options. Additionally, he focuses on gene and enzyme engineering to develop enzymatic tools that generate new bioactive molecules or their scaffolds. Natural products, chemical compounds found in nature, are one of the major sources of medications. In light of the high demand for new pharmaceuticals, Dr. Mori investigates these compounds through enzymology.
