I received my Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Sciences in Biochemistry and completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in the area of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. I am a past recipient of extramural grants from NIH and HRSA and have received Exemplary Teaching Award in several years.

Teaching Interests
I am a part of the primary teaching faculty of Pre-Clerkship medical education for the past several years. I serve as the Component Director of Medical Biochemistry & Genetic, the Module Director of the Foundations of Medicine module (MEDI-6120), and as a facilitator in Case-Based Learning in the Pre-Clerkship curriculum.

Research Interests
My research interests relate to discovery and characterization of novel nutrient transporters to understand their physiological role in nutrient delivery and develop strategies to utilize these transporters as targets for drug delivery and cancer chemoprevention.
