Research Interests
My research interests are to define the contribution of glymphatic dysfunction and peripheral immune activation in the development of the neurodegeneration of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Current projects in the lab are exploring the possible role of neutrophil extracellular traps in the glymphatic impairment and amyloid pathology of Alzheimer's disease, menopause-induced glymphatic impairment as a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease, and how gyrification of the cerebral cortex may influence varying perivascular localization of AQP4 across mammalian species.
