My teaching interests center on working with residents and medical students in the newborn nursery and in the inpatient hospitalist setting. I am committed to helping learners strengthen their clinical reasoning, formulate effective differential diagnoses and management plans, and refine their presentation skills. I also greatly enjoy providing procedural instruction in the newborn nursery to help build their competence and confidence.
My current research centers on enhancing trainee education in the newborn nursery, with a particular emphasis on breastfeeding instruction and competency. I created and implemented a comprehensive breastfeeding curriculum using pre- and post-testing to assess learning gains, and the findings showed significant improvement in trainee knowledge and confidence.
