My teaching interests center on evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, and quality improvement, preparing future nurses to think critically and lead in complex healthcare environments. I have taught at all levels (pre-licensure, DNP, and PhD) and I am committed to creating rigorous, inclusive, and practice-aligned learning experiences that cultivate clinical reasoning, professional identity formation, and team-based problem solving regardless of the level of learner. Through experiential, case-based, and competency-focused pedagogy, I aim to develop nurses who are confident, curious, and ready to improve care systems from day one of practice.
My research focuses on improving long-term outcomes and health-related quality of life after traumatic injury and critical illness, with emphasis on understanding how communication quality, early rehabilitation, and system-level factors shape recovery trajectories. I leverage interprofessional partnerships to advance trauma science, health equity, and implementation of evidence-based interventions across the continuum of care. Clinically, I am committed to transforming trauma systems and elevating nursing-led solutions that improve patient and family experiences and outcomes.
