Bio

Dr. Markwalter is an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, specializing in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner track. She brings 25 years of critical care experience from a high-acuity burn ICU and is a first-generation college graduate. Her academic interests focus on supporting student success, facilitating the transition from bedside nurse to advanced practice clinician, and preparing learners for effective, evidence-based practice in acute care settings.
