Bio

Dr. Ana Carolina Morandini earned her Dental degree, Masters in Dental Sciences with Periodontics specialty and PhD in Oral Biology from the University of São Paulo - Bauru School of Dentistry, Brazil. She completed post-doctoral training in Immunobiology at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a post-doc in Oral Health Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her work has been recognized by several prestigious awards, including the IADR and AADOCR Joseph Lister Awards, a High Five My faculty Award from the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship at Augusta University, the Most Valuable Faculty Award from DCG Class of 2025, and the Dental Faculty Development Grant from Pierre Fauchard Academy, Northern California Section. Dr. Morandini has served as Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Oral Science since 2019 and she currently serves as the Vice-president for AADOCR - Georgia Section (2024-2025). She currently serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for Journal of Dental Research, Scientific Reports, Frontiers in Immunology, Clinical and Translational Medicine and International Journal of Oral Science.
