Teaching Interests
My teaching interests include undergraduate and graduate courses in applied mathematics. To make these courses more engaging for students, I incorporate problems exemplifying applications of the mathematical concepts in different fields, such as biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and finance.

Research Interests
My research interests include connecting experimental data with a variety of mathematical and statistical tools, such as modeling, sensitivity and uncertainty analysis, parameter estimation and optimal control. The goal is to generate deeper understanding of biological processes and interactions and to help answer questions of relevance to disease development and treatment. Currently, my main areas of investigation are autoimmunity as well as retinal metabolism and antioxidant defenses.
