We are strongest when we are together!

Communication students have the chance to apply to Lambda Pi Eta, a national honors community that provides resources and connections for college students and professionals in the communication field.

In addition, you are welcome to join the weekly Media Production Club, where you will have the chance to work together with fellow communication students to create projects such as music videos and documentaries, and take field trips together to meet industry professionals and talent in the field.

Finally, don't forget you can get involved with the student-run newspaper or magazine. They are always open to new contributors and you can even apply for paid part-time positions on staff.

Lambda Pi Eta: Communication Honors Society

Dr. Pam Hayward & Dr. Taylor Walker

Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities.

LPH has more than 500 active chapters at four-year colleges and universities nationwide. It became a part of the National Communication Association in 1988, and the association's official honor society in July 1995. It is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). The honor society represents what Aristotle described in Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), meaning logic; pathos (Pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics.

The Six Goals of Lambda Pi Eta
  1. Recognize, foster, and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in Communication Studies
  2. Stimulate interest in the field of Communication
  3. Promote and encourage professional development among Communication majors
  4. Provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of Communication
  5. Establish and maintain closer relationships between faculty and students

Media Production Club

Sangsun Choi

Students work together on media projects and promote dynamic media production culture.

The club meets once a week and is advised by Professor Sangsun Choi. Students work together on media projects and promote dynamic media production culture.

The club allows students the opportunity to produce various media work, including a narrative, documentary, music video, among others. We also want to shed light on valuable stories in our community through a camera.

We also offer opportunities for field trips and meeting with filmmakers, producers, and talents.
