We encourage all health professional students (medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, etc.) from Augusta University to participate in MCG’s Value Based Healthcare Competition!

Participant Information

  • Students will be provided with a patient case and identify value deficits along with their multifactorial causes. They are given 2 months to analyze and identify value deficits (medication, diagnostic, hospital processes, technology, clinical procedures, physician and patient education, patient management, and patient experience) and their underlying, multifactorial causes (ie. Individual, community, societal) to come up with an innovative solution to one of the problems. They are provided with a case guidebook and care package which includes:
    • Key Dates
    • Care Packages
    • Patient Case
    • Mentor Information
    • Judging Criteria
  • The final submission will include a video presentation of up to 20 minutes and a PowerPoint. We suggest all participants use the tools provided in the care package as well as their mentor to aid them through this process.
  • Each team will be assigned a mentor and be required to meet with them at least once throughout the competition for guidance on the case.
  • An individual box link will be sent to each team to upload their presentations.
