Overview

ADMISSION SELECTION
Admission is on a competitive basis. The DCG Admissions Committee seeks applicants who, in the judgment of the Committee, are best qualified for admission.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
The Dental College of Georgia does not accept advanced-standing or transfer students.

FOREIGN-TRAINED DENTISTS
The Dental College of Georgia does not have a program in which foreign-trained dentists can participate in order to become licensed in Georgia.

Minimum Requirements

All D.M.D. applicants for admission must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for admission.

English Proficiency Requirement

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam scores are required for applicants whose first language is not English and who do not qualify for an English proficiency waiver per the criteria listed below.

English proficiency waiver criteria:

Applicants may be waived from taking the TOEFL exam if:

  • Submit proof of earning a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college/university before matriculating at DCG.
  • Have the test possibly waived by DCG admissions administrators during a scheduled consultation for this purpose.

The Dental College of Georgia will accept official TOEFL scores that are taken within two years of the date of application. The Augusta University institution code for submission of TOEFL scores is 5406. Unofficial copy of scores can be emailed to dcgadmissions@augusta.edu

DCG will accept TOEFL minimum score of 100; with minimum of 26 in the speaking component.

* All required courses must be taken on a graduated grading scale (A, B, C, D, F); required courses may not be taken on a pass/fail basis. Applicants must earn a grade of C or better in all required courses. The DCG does not acknowledge the +/- system at this time.

** An academic year equals two semesters or three quarters or one semester and two quarters.
