The Office of Academic Admissions is part of the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs and includes recruitment and admission/processing of all undergraduate students (including first-year students, transfers, and international students), as well as admission/processing of most graduate students. The Director of Undergraduate Admissions will report to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services. The successful candidate will provide evidence of collaborative leadership, exceptional communication skills, technological expertise, and a commitment to placing students and education at the forefront, as well as possess vision, recruitment and marketing ability, and significant strategic and analytical capacity. The director maintains University System and undergraduate admissions policies; provides and sets standards for excellent student service; manages all office resources, including budgets and application fees; employs marketing and recruitment efforts to enroll new undergraduate students; coordinates enrollment growth strategies for new undergraduate students; and, procures the resources necessary for the Office of Academic Admissions to function well. The director serves as a resource person for all academic departments in their recruitment and admission of undergraduate students, while setting the standard for excellent student and customer service.

The position is responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day operations of the Department of Student Life and Engagement. This includes general oversight of all student activities including student programming, student organizations, Fraternity and Sorority Life, community engagement, and student leadership. Additionally, the Director provides leadership over the student activities centers. The Director will effectively supervise professional staff members responsible for the functional areas listed above. The Director should possess an understanding of and the ability to apply student development and learning outcomes theories. The Director will possess the ability to sustain communication with diverse groups, anticipate problems, reconcile conflicts, and maintain a strong philosophical base for student engagement.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, this role directs the operations of disability services for all current and prospective students and works with faculty and staff to ensure students with documented disabilities have access to the academic environment.  Additionally, the role supervises and coordinates the testing function of the institution to include standardized testing for current and prospective students and the broader community.

This role works primarily to chair our CARE Team and the operations of our Jags Care initiative.  The Associate Dean is responsible for managing and coordinating a collaborative approach in responding to reports of students in distress. Additionally, the professional in this role needs to be skilled at conflict resolution, process development, and has an understanding of student conduct.

In promoting Augusta University to prospective students, this position primarily serves the units in Enrollment Management (Admissions, Financial Aid, Military and Veteran Services, and New Student & Family Transitions) through development of student recruitment communications. In promoting on-campus experiences to current students, this position also serves the units across the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs by providing oversight and direction for the bi-weekly student newsletter, JagMobile app, and special marketing campaigns.
