AFTER GRADUATION:
Academic Medicine- General Pediatrics/Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics
Children's Hospital of Georgia, Augusta, GA
I have had an incredibly rewarding experience in the MCG pediatric residency program, which has fostered both my professional and personal growth. From the moment I started, I felt like I was part of a close-knit, supportive community. The residents and faculty work together not just as colleagues, but as a team, where collaboration and camaraderie are at the core of our daily work. The faculty are not only exceptionally dedicated to teaching and mentoring, but they also make it a priority to provide individualized guidance tailored to each resident's goals.
Some of my favorite memories are from the fun and unique traditions we have as a program—especially the annual holiday party and Halloween costume competition. These events not only allow us to unwind and bond outside of the hospital, but they also serve as a reminder of the strong sense of community we have.
I am sincerely grateful for the wonderful education, mentorship, and friendships that have come from having the opportunity to train here.

AFTER GRADUATION:
Neonatology Fellowship
Medical College of Georgia, Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia, Augusta, GA
My pediatric residency at the Medical College of Georgia was both a challenging and deeply rewarding experience that shaped my career, personal growth, and development as a leader. The program provided extensive hands-on exposure to every facet of pediatrics that gave me a strong foundation and clinical skills. What truly made my time here special, though, were the people—the attendings, staff, and my co-residents—who created an ideal training environment. Their guidance and support motivated me to stay here at MCG for fellowship. I left residency feeling confident, well-prepared for my board exam, and deeply grateful to have been part of such a remarkable program.

I loved MCG because I felt equipped to be an attending after graduating, and even now the attendings are supportive and care for the residents who have graduated!
GRADUATION YEAR: 2021
AFTER GRADUATION:
Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship
Arkansas Children's Hospital, Little Rock, AK
Having gone to medical school at MCG, I knew what a fantastic pediatric residency we had here, and I wanted to be a part of it. I was first drawn by the faculty who are incredibly devoted to making the residents well-rounded, confident, and compassionate pediatricians. Secondly, our patient population satisfies both the need for bread-and-butter pathology exposure as well as unique “find in a textbook only” cases. You truly feel prepared for whatever the future holds, whether that be rural private practice or fellowship. I will forever value the relationships I built with my co-residents. Because of them, residency will always be some of the best years of my life.
GRADUATION YEAR: 2021
AFTER GRADUATION:
Private Practice- General Pediatrics
Fayetteville, North Carolina
MCG is a family-oriented program that works to develop strong general pediatricians. I have been blessed to have great mentors and leaders pave the way for me to grow in such a nurturing environment. I am grateful for the training, the tough love, and the coffee runs that have molded me in the best pediatrician I can be!
Favorite Memory: Wellness walks and home-cooked meals were always right on time!
GRADUATION YEAR: 2021
AFTER GRADUATION:
Neonatology Fellowship
University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA
MCG is truly an amazing place to do residency. Because of our location, we get patients
from all over Georgia and South Carolina, which brings in so much pathology! I enjoyed
being at a program that allowed me experience in the ICUs my first year, as I think
that helped me find my love of critical care earlier in residency. But the best part
of the program is the faculty; we work with the best attendings, both inpatient and
outpatient, who truly want to work with residents and make us into the best pediatricians!
The mentorship I have had here has fundamentally changed my career path and helped
me see my future!
My most memorable experience was my last day of Friday clinic, because we threw the biggest party! It isn't every
day that you get an attending to make a geode cake to celebrate your last day (thanks
again Dr. Newhall!). Otherwise, every day with my class is a great day, because we
truly have a lot of fun with each other. We have celebrated birthdays, new additions,
and basically every chance to have a get together and get some great Augusta food.

AFTER GRADUATION:
Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship
Emory University, Atlanta, GA
The Peds program at MCG is the perfect size for training. You get to know others in the program intimately, but there are enough to help cover for you when needed. The faculty are very accessible and you're not competing for procedures or teaching.
GRADUATION YEAR: 2020
AFTER GRADUATION:
Pediatric Critical Care Medicine FellowshipOrlando, FL at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children
MCG has a broad range of pathology and a robust team of sub-specialists. We are also a level 4 NICU with in house ECMO. Our LOE is adjacent to our sub-specialists in the event we have questions or want to discuss the referral process. Also one of the main things that did draw me into MCG was that it had exposure to the PICU during intern year and offered it all 3 years. MCG has a family ambiance and they always made me feel at home. I have always felt supported in all aspects of life including planning our wedding from afar and assisting me with my future career goals.
GRADUATION YEAR: 2020
AFTER GRADUATION:
General Pediatrics Private Practice

The people are the best thing about residency here. We have some of the best attendings who truly care about residents’ education and personal lives.
GRADUATION YEAR: 2019
AFTER GRADUATION:
Academic Medicine at Augusta University- MCG and then Private Practice in Metro Atlanta
MCG has had such a positive impact on my career - it has trained me to be the best pediatrician that I can be. My time at MCG has not only opened my eyes to the true depth and breadth of pediatric medicine, but also the unique specialties within pediatrics. I left with exposure to the vast majority of diagnoses that I will see as a Pediatrician and the skills to manage those kids to the best of my ability!
Memorable Experience As a Resident: One of my favorite experience was our intern retreat. As an intern, you are busy in the hospital for what feels like forever. As May comes around, you can start to see the light through the trees. Our retreat was a great time for our entire class to get back together (the last time we were all together was during orientation) and just be with each other
GRADUATION YEAR: 2019
AFTER GRADUATION:
General Pediatrics Private Practice
Lawrenceville, GA
I built long-lasting relationships with mentors and colleagues. I am grateful to have established these connections and know I can depend on them for resources in the future.
Memorable Experience As a Resident: My most memorable experience is celebrating a patient of mine being "cancer-free" in the Heme/Onc clinic
GRADUATION YEAR: 2017
AFTER GRADUATION:
Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship
Riley Hospital for Children (Indianapolis, IN)
MCG prepared me to see a wide variety of conditions. Since we did not have too many subspecialty inpatient teams, most patients went to the Hospitalist Team, which is where you spend most of your time as a resident. You are very well prepared for any fellowship program or general pediatrics.
Memorable Experience As a Resident: All the camaraderie! I loved how close we all were in residency. We still keep in regular touch and some of my closest friends are those I met at MCG.
