In recent years, our city has undergone a cultural renaissance.  Music venues and theatres downtown have been restored and new restaurants and breweries are opening up on every corner. Broad Street in Downtown Augusta is home to many locally owned restaurants, nightlife and artisans.  Locals and tourists spend nights and weekends strolling down Broad Street to take in all that it has to offer. In 2015, Zagat wrote an article featuring local eats in Augusta and Forbes stated that Augusta, Georgia may be the South’s Best-Kept Secret

Augusta, Georgia was just named the most neighborly city in America. Additionally, Money Magazine named Evans, Georgia the #1 Best Place to live in 2020.  Evans is located just 15-20 minutes from Augusta and many of our residents choose to live there due to the affordable housing options.

Augusta area listed as best place in Georgia to live, retire; beating Atlanta, Savannah

Augusta has been rated the top metro area in Georgia for people to live and to retire. The Garden City outperformed both Atlanta and Savannah in the annual rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News and World Report. The Augusta area landed at 76th nationally in top places to live and 79th in places to retire. By comparison, Atlanta, which rated second statewide, ranked 95th and 90th, respectively, and Savannah, third place in Georgia, ranked 102nd and 95th nationally.
