The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University Center of Operational Medicine Paramedic course is a twelve month certificate program with a shift friendly schedule meeting two – three times per week for lectures, skill labs, and clinical sessions.
Instruction includes hospital rotations with an emphasis on the emergency department and ambulance experience. The program includes the following skills to prepare students for final skills testing:

Students receiving a certificate will be prepared to function effectively in an advanced life-support capacity within the pre-hospital environment. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the National Registry Exam for Paramedic and apply for Georgia licensure. Paramedic Graduates choosing to enroll in a traditional program of study at Augusta University are eligible to receive 13 credit hours.
Prerequisites
The Augusta University Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
