The Master of Science in Information Security Management (MS ISM) provides a master’s level exposure to the knowledge and skills required to protect an enterprise’s information assets, educating professionals in the fields of information security, governance of IT, and risk management.
The MS ISM program is a 30-hour master’s program divided into ten, 3-credit hour required courses. Courses will primarily be delivered face-to-face with some expected and growing use of online, hybrid, and weekend scheduling.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required from an accredited college or university. To be used to satisfy degree requirement, evaluation of foreign educational transcripts must show degree(s) earned are the U.S. equivalency of degree(s) required by the program.
Official transcripts are required from all universities and colleges ever attended. Only in the case of transcripts from international colleges and universities will an official course-by-course transcript evaluation be accepted in lieu of an official transcript. Official transcripts should be sent to Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions. To remain official, all transcripts must remain in the original, unopened, sealed and stamped/signed envelope of the Registrar's Office of the issuing institution. Alternatively, Augusta University will accept official electronic transcripts from the Registrar's Office of your prior institution. Electronic transcripts should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Recommendations (which include a reference form and letter of recommendation) from three individuals are required. Referees should be individuals qualified to critically assess the applicant's prior academic (usually college professors), employment, artistic, research and/or clinical experience and qualifications (as applicable), as well as the applicant's potential as a graduate student in the field/program selected.
Recommendations may be submitted online only. Within the application you will provide the names and current email addresses of three individuals who will serve as your recommenders. Once your application has been submitted, each recommender will be notified via email directing them to the online link to complete their recommendation.
Official test scores are required. GMAT, GRE, DAT or MCAT scores will be accepted if less than five years old. Official exam scores must be submitted to Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions. GMAT scores must be official and sent directly to Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions via the official GMAT site.
Information Security Management students are expected to have a strong working knowledge of security and networking. Students with undergraduate technology related degrees and work experience are expected to benefit the most from this program. Ideally, students should have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.8 or higher and either a GMAT score of 500 or higher or a GRE score of 300 or higher. However, students will be evaluated holistically upon all application materials and the aforementioned numbers should not be considered a minimum.
