Accounts and Passwords

Box

Tech Resources for Faculty/Staff

Virtual Meeting Platforms

Microsoft Teams lets you chat, meet, call, and collaborate with classmates in real time, all in one place. It supports file sharing, communication, and group work, but does not integrate with D2L.

Zoom is a video conferencing platform used for virtual classes and meetings. It integrates with Brightspace/D2L to support online and hybrid learning.

Telephones

AU’s telephone services include line activation, deactivation, moves, changes, installations, repairs, and voicemail. Contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.

Communications/Information 

JagAlert is AU’s emergency notification system. Students are automatically enrolled in JagAlert and receive health and safety alerts by text, email, and phone. 

MyAugusta is your go-to app for campus news, emergency updates, health resources, and more all in one place.

Free or Discounted Software

Get the software you need without the high price tag. AU offers a wide range of software and applications at reduced or no cost through vendor agreements, saving you time and money. Don’t see what you need? Faculty and staff interested in software not listed may need to complete a Vendor Assessment (RAARe Triage Form). This process allows AU Cyber Defense to evaluate any potential security risks, especially if the software will access university data.

Qualtrics 

Qualtrics is a free, web-based survey tool available to AU faculty and staff. It’s ideal for research, instructional use, and more, with an easy-to-use interface to get you started quickly. To set up your professional account, contact the IT Help Desk.

Electronic Signatures

Augusta University accepts properly obtained electronic signatures for official university forms and documentation. E-signatures allow faculty, staff, and students to create secure, fully digital workflows, including legally binding signatures, without the need to print, scan, or mail paper forms.

Banner/POUNCE

Banner is an application used to manage administrative information ranging from class registration, scheduling, and student grades to financial aid and billing and payment information.  

POUNCE is Augusta University’s online portal for course registration, grades, transcripts, and academic records.

D2L 

Desire2Learn (D2L) is the online learning management system for Augusta University. D2L is our secure, FERPA-compliant learning management system that provides a central hub for course content, communication, and collaboration. Accessible from both computers and mobile devices, D2L allows instructors to customize and manage coursework, share documents and multimedia, post announcements, conduct quizzes, facilitate discussions, and track student progress—all in one digital space.

Echo360

Echo360 is a lecture capture system that allows the recording of lectures, meetings, speeches, and other events. Echo360 supports integration with D2L. 

ExamSoft 

ExamSoft helps academic institutions improve student learning with secure assessment tools and software that provide valuable data, insights, and reports.

JagTrax

JagTrax is a degree planning tool that helps you and your advisor track your progress toward graduation. It shows what you’ve completed and what’s left. Note: You’ll still need to see your academic advisor to get registration access.

Classroom and Event Services

Classroom & Events Scheduling handles the reservation and coordination of classroom spaces and event venues, processing requests via the Event Management System (EMS), ensuring compliance with campus policies, and providing audiovisual support through AU IT AV services (e.g., AV planning, setup, training, and recording) for academic, departmental, student, or external events.

We offer academic technology support and training services to faculty and staff who use technology and software for teaching and learning at Augusta University.

Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is a top priority at AU. If you see something, say something. Our Cyber Defense team works 24/7 to protect your personal data and university systems. If you notice anything unusual or suspicious, don’t wait, report it right away.

Use the cyber hotline to report:

  • Lost or stolen AU credentials
  • Lost or stolen devices with access to AU systems
  • Suspected malware or viruses
  • Computers or devices behaving strangely

Email 72CYBER@augusta.edu if you clicked on something suspicious or received a sketchy email in your AU inbox.

Cybersecurity Tips:

  • Use strong passwords: At least 10 characters with letters, numbers, and symbols. Don’t reuse old ones.

  • Use Duo MFA: Required for AU systems—adds an extra layer of protection.

  • Enable updates: Install software updates right away to keep devices secure.

  • Watch for phishing: Don’t fall for emails that urge quick action, contain errors, or come from unknown senders.

  • Think before you click: Avoid suspicious links and attachments.
