Augusta University’s communications team connects local, state and national media outlets with the stories of the university and academic medical center. We help the media schedule interviews and set up photo/video shoots, along with promoting research, events and other news stories. A member of the team is on-call and available 24 hours a day at 706-522-3023. Find recent news releases here.
Augusta University is home to experts in a variety of fields ranging from health and social sciences to cybersecurity and beyond. The media can find an expert and schedule an interview through our Expert Center. Promoting an event?
Our team is happy to support your event by providing graphic design support; sharing your event with local media; and advertising your event on the university’s news site, newsletters, app and social media accounts.
However, if you need help planning or coordinating your event, review the event planning resources provided by the Office of Protocol & Special Events. Note that Communications & Marketing does not manage or organize events for other units.
“I think it’s advantageous because we (anthropologists) look at health care in a holistic way. Many times those nontraditional students come in with a new creativity and new orientation, and that’s what’s desperately needed in public health and medicine,” said Eric Bailey, PhD, professor at East Carolina University.
The new Graduate Admissions Operations office helps to ease the transition to graduate school, from admissions to graduation.
Augusta University held its annual Lighting of the Tree on Thursday, Nov. 30.
“I always liked the political stories that happened and in different narratives in the theoretical and academic sense. The weight of political matters has always really interested me,” said Grantham Sandlin.
