The BSN program and the Accelerated BSN program (ABSN) provide students the knowledge, skills, and abilities to function
effectively in all areas of nursing practice through quality instruction and clinical
experiences.
These programs provide students the opportunity to apply didactic knowledge in a variety of hands-on and simulated clinical settings, and lay the groundwork for continuing one's professional education at the graduate level. The BSN program is taught on the Augusta and Athens campuses. The ABSN program is available exclusively on the Athens campus.
Augusta University College of Nursing BSN programs are approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Graduates of the BSN and ABSN programs are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN to obtain the professional state license, Registered Nurse (RN). Graduates of the College of Nursing may take the exam for a Registered Nurse license in the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia, and four U.S. territories: American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the Virgin Islands.
