All first-year students will park their cars on the Health Sciences campus in Lot 38 with an AU parking permit. Students should take the JagExpress Shuttle to the other campuses. The Blue Route can be used to go from Lot 38 to Oak Hall on weekdays, with a Sunday Route shuttle available from 3 to 11 pm. If you need to drop something off at Oak Hall, you can use one of the 15-minute parking spaces.
Students are able to login into the StarRez Housing Portal, view their Fall 23-24 housing application and their roommate's name and email address will be at the bottom under the header "Roommate Information".
All students with academic year contracts (undergraduate students) must leave their housing assignment no later than 24 hours after their last final exam. If you have extenuating circumstances and need on-campus housing over Winter Break, please complete the Winter Break Stay Request Form, located under "Request" on the StarRez Housing Portal. Students currently living in Alternative Housing (i.e. Marriott, Partridge Inn, Crowne Plaza, Row, Millhouse, Beacon), if approved for stay, you will be relocated to either Elm or University Village (UV) for the winter break.
Please see this website for what to bring for Oak Hall. You may need a few extra things.
You will have an XL-twin bed in Oak Hall.
The housing contract that you signed was for one academic year. Cancelling your housing contract prior to Spring Semester will result in a financial penalty. For more information about the cancellation policy visit https://www.augusta.edu/housing/cancellation.php.
Students will access the regular shuttle routes for transportation to Summerville, Forest Hills, or the River Front campuses.
More information about Oak Hall can be found at https://www.augusta.edu/housing/oak-hall.php.
A reputable moving company is engaged to move all belongings into Oak Hall. AU has worked with this company in the past, and we are confident in their ability. Please remember that any TVs or fragile items should not be packed and should instead be taken home with you over winter break. During move-in on January 6, there will be professional staff at Oak Hall to assist in the resolution of any issues.
Lot 38 is one of the university's newest lots. It has upgraded lighting, emergency phones, and cameras as enhanced security features. The parking lots are patrolled by security guards on golf carts Monday through Friday from the hours of 6 AM-7 PM and are patrolled routinely by Augusta University Police Officers. Additionally, AUPD offers safety escorts to and from parking lot 38 and all other lots by calling (706) 721-2911. AUPD encourages the use of the RAVE Guardian safety app which is free to all students. It can be found in your app store. The app provides a direct connection to AUPD dispatchers and functions as a mobile emergency button as well as providing a "virtual escort". Please visit www.augusta.edu/police for additional information and safety resources.
If you have a disability that requires an accommodation of closer parking, you can contact Parking and Transportation. If you need to establish disability status and eligibility for services, contact Testing and Disability Services.
If you choose to walk from Lot 38 (rather than taking the Jag Express shuttle or a safety escort), the walk is 0.5 miles which is equivalent to about 4 city blocks or about a 12-minute walk.
