The amount of a FWS award depends on the student's financial need, the number of hours the hiring department needs them to work, and the funding level received by the university. FWS recipients are awarded a specific amount of funding each year that may be earned through their employment. Seventy-five percent of a student's earnings are provided by the federal government and twenty-five percent by the department for which the student works. The student will receive a response via email within a few business days. If approved, the student will search for jobs through Handshake on the Augusta University Career Services website. If eligible and hired, the student will receive a Federal Work Study Award Agreement that must be signed by the student and supervisor and returned to OSFA. All hiring paperwork is handled through Human Resources on the Health Sciences Campus.
Students who do not qualify for FWS may search for other job opportunities using Handshake.
