Augusta University welcomes new students and students from underrepresented identities with a trio of vibrant mentorship programs, led by more experienced student mentors! You're sure to find the right fit for you with offerings such as professional development opportunities, networking, career guidance, community building, navigating the challenges of university life, and leadership-development. No matter your background, we have a program to help you thrive!
Jags4Jags Peer Mentorship Program
The Jags4Jags Mentoring Program enhances the new student experience by linking first-year students one-on-one with a peer mentor. You are paired with someone invested in your success — someone ready to listen, inspire, help navigate challenges and recognize opportunities. You will learn what to expect in school, how to approach challenges, and how to start down your career path. At the same time, mentors will build their networks and develop leadership and professional skills. All incoming students are eligible to be matched with a Jags4Jags Peer Mentor.
Multicultural Mentorship Program
The Multicultural Mentorship Program is a peer mentoring program designed and designated for students from any underrepresented identities, such as students of color, first-generation students, LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, international students, veteran students, or students from religious minorities. The program assists with the first-year transition into the Augusta University community through exclusive social, personal, and professional development opportunities.
African American Male Initiative
The African American Male Initiative (AAMI) is a leadership development program designed to cultivate the talents and abilities of any Black student who identifies as a man. AAMI works to support their academic and future career goals through mentorship and community building.
