Essential Oils and Pain-Pressure Threshold Feasibility Study

The purpose of this study is to determine if essential oils will slow down pain signals sent to the brain. Pain signals are sent to the brain by messengers called neurotransmitters. Essential oils may change the way these neurotransmitters work. We want to determine whether topical diluted essential oils decrease neurotransmitters when applying pressure to the skin. Findings from this study may help us reduce the amount of pain signals sent in people with chronic pain in future studies.
