About us

PURPOSE

Housed in the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs, the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement aims to provide education, training, and programming to foster belonging and success in the Augusta University community. The office collaborates with departments, colleges, and student organizations to promote our Augusta University value of inclusivity.

A fundamental prerequisite for excellence in our current environment requires students who can successfully navigate the multitude of cross-cultural interactions brought about by modern globalization and demographic shifts. In order to become a destination of choice in today's fast-evolving society, we must develop and attract talent with a variety of different experiences. Simultaneously, we must strive to continuously improve our level of cultural competency, create a climate of inclusivity, and make the best use of our talent since it represents the catalyst for new ideas and connects us more holistically to the populations that we serve.

MISSION

To create and celebrate inclusivity through programming, advocacy, and educational initiatives that develop and empower culturally competent students, faculty, and staff.
