Notifications will be sent to the email provided in your library account (usually
your AU email address). You can also monitor the progress of your request in your
library account
Patrons can renew GIL Express items for up to two (2) additional 28-day loan periods,
provided there are no pending recalls or holds on the item and the patron's borrowing
account is free of fines and overdue materials.
All renewals are requested online, through a patron's GIL "My Account".
All renewals must be performed before the due date.
The library that owns a book loaned on GIL Express may recall the book at any time
after the initial loan period, regardless of due date.
Lending libraries may recall materials before all possible renewals are used. In
these cases, the patron must return the item quickly after the initial loan period.
Recall notices will be sent to the patron's library account.
All borrowing is blocked until the books are returned.
All overdue books must be returned and are not eligible for renewal.
Overdue materials may be assessed a non-refundable replacement cost, which is assessed
by the lending library. A $35.00 processing fee for long overdue materials will be
applied in addition to the replacement cost.
