Teaching Interests

My teaching interests center on Geriatric Medicine, with a focus on core topics such as geriatric syndromes, polypharmacy, deprescribing, the 5M’s framework, and functional assessment. I am passionate about helping learners understand the complexity and individuality of older adults while emphasizing the importance of preserving function and quality of life. In addition to geriatrics, I teach clinical skills with a strong emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered communication and the art of bedside care. My goal is to cultivate reflective, empathetic physicians who deliver evidence-based and humanistic care across all stages of life.

Research Interests

My research interests lie at the intersection of geriatric medicine and medical education. I am particularly interested in improving how learners understand and manage geriatric syndromes, polypharmacy, and deprescribing through innovative teaching strategies and curriculum development. My work explores educational methods that enhance clinical reasoning, empathy, and communication skills, with a focus on preparing trainees to deliver high quality, patient centered care for older adults. Additionally, I am interested in developing and refining summative assessment tools aligned with the AAMC Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) to better evaluate learners’ readiness for clinical practice and promote competency-based education.
