Bio

Dr. Susan Nicosia’s nursing career initially focused on providing inpatient pediatric nursing care and transitioned to addressing the need to improve the patient safety net and processes of healthcare delivery. As an Assistant Professor Dr. Nicosia is passionate about creating learning environments where learners grow to become future leaders through innovative, creative learning experiences.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Nicosia's teaching interests include the use of innovative pedagogical and active learning approaches (i.e., storytelling, gamification) to enhance active learning on topics including geriatric nursing, leadership, self-care, quality improvement, and organizational culture.
