My teaching philosophy is rooted in a commitment to student-centered, practice-based learning that prepares the next generation of public health and healthcare leaders to address complex health challenges. I believe the most effective learning happens when students can directly apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. My goal is to create an inclusive and dynamic environment where students develop not only core competencies but also a deep sense of purpose and ethical responsibility.
Mentoring diverse students is a cornerstone of my teaching. I foster an atmosphere of cultural humility and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, preparing students to work effectively within complex health systems and community partnerships. Through formative assessments and a focus on data literacy, I help students build confidence in translating evidence into policy and practice. My ultimate aim is to empower students with the skills and passion to become effective, equity-focused leaders who can drive meaningful change.
