11 M3s and 4 attendings traveled to DR for a one week medical mission. Over 1400 patients were seen over 4 1/2 days at 5 different clinical sites. A significant variety of medical conditions were diagnosed and treated by the team. All the students were given autonomy to primary diagnose and treat the patients they interviewed with oversight from the physician mentors. The experience was transformational for the students despite the heat and practice conditions. NW Campus is committed to a mission trip yearly in our curriculum as we go forward.
