Because we do have more individuals interested in participating than we have available positions, we must go through an application process. We ask that you submit 1) a personal statement of what you hope to gain through the fellowship and how you hope to apply it to your personal goals, and 2) two letters of recommendation. Upon receipt of this information we can proceed with scheduling an interview and subsequent determination of acceptance into the fellowship.

When to Apply

As we try to start the fellowship in July each year, we would like to have applications underway by August of the preceding calendar year and interviews in September.

Note: Early deadlines for some of the Tropical Medicine Courses requires that we decide by early October. That way Fellows may submit applications to those institutions and have a position secured as early as possible. The clinical schedule will be greatly affected by how many fellows are at which Tropical Medicine Course and when. Hence the need for early decisions.

Requirements
