to offer. Our historic Summerville campus on Walton Way was once the site of a U.
S. Army Arsenal, established in 1826. The campus maintains its military origins, including
the original 1827-29 buildings and enclosed quadrangle, a Civil War cannon, a military
cemetery, and a history museum chronicling our days as an arsenal. Get to know Augusta

In a continuing effort to support the military, the Georgia Board of Regents passed
a resolution on April 20, 2012 to waive the $262.00 institutional fees for those active
duty military students on the Summerville Campus and the $450.00 institutional fees
for those active duty military students on the Health Science Campus of University
System of Georgia Institutions.
Since Fall 2014, Augusta University has also waived mandatory fees for all active duty service members. Beginning Spring 2015, the USG agreed to allow
schools to waive mandatory fees for active duty service members, National Guard and
Reservists who are using Tuition Assistance. To determine your eligibility for the
Mandatory Fee Waiver, complete a waiver application in the Office of Military & Veterans
Services or contact a staff member.
All active duty, reservists, national guard need to contact the office at 706-729-2255
or email@example.com to determine if they are eligible for the waiver of ALL mandatory fees.
As a military friendly institution we observe The Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students (HEROES) Act. We provide for the modification and waiving of some statutory and regulatory provisions
related to students who receive financial aid and who are on active duty during a
war or other military operation or who reside or are employed in a declared disaster
area. Also, Augusta University is complaint with 34 CFR 668.18 of the Higher Education Act and provides readmission provisions for our returning
Augusta University limits academic residency to no more than twenty-five percent of
the degree requirements for all degrees for active-duty service members. Academic
residency can be completed at any time while active duty service members are enrolled.
Reservists and National Guardsmen on active duty are covered in the same manner.

Out-of-state tuition fee waiver. Augusta University offers an out-of-state-tuition fee waiver to all full-time military
personnel stationed in Georgia and to their dependents.
HOPE Scholarship for high school students. Dependent children of active duty service members may qualify for the HOPE scholarship
if they graduate from a Georgia high school.
ROTC Program. The Army ROTC Green to Gold Division Commander’s Hip Pocket Scholarship Program provides
selected soldiers the opportunity to complete their baccalaureate degree requirements
and obtain a commission through participation in the ROTC Scholarship program.
