Augusta University is excited to have you a part of Jaguar Nation! We invite you to participate in Weeks of Welcome (WOW) to prepare you for success during your time on campus. WOW is packed with a variety of events and activities to assist first year, transfer and returning students in making new friends, connecting to Augusta University resources, and getting involved in campus life. We encourage you to make the most of your time at Augusta University!


Freshman Convocation

Date: Tuesday, August 14

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Location: Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre

Description: This is a requirement for incoming college freshmen. This is your chance to meet the class of 2022 and get ready to start your journey at Augusta University.

Lemonade Brigade

Date: Wednesday, August 15

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Location: Summerville Campus (JSAC Field) & Health Science Campus (Pavilion 2)

Description: Trying to find your class? Need a refreshing drink of water or lemonade? Want some information about getting involved or the resources available on campus? Stop by one of the Lemonade Brigade tables manned by student leaders, staff, and faculty members.

Student Health Services Open House

Date: Wednesday, August 15

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Location: Health Science Campus (Pavilion 2)

Description: This event will be held in conjunction with the Lemonade Brigade. Students will have the opportunity to meet the staff at the Student Health Clinic. Refreshments will be served, as well as free blood pressure and BMI screenings, and various health promotional activities.

Jaguar Madness 

Date: Friday, August 17

Time: 8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Location: Christenberry Fieldhouse

Description: Jaguar Madness is a spirited event co-hosted by the AU Athletics Department and the office of Student Life and Engagement. Come meet our Athletics Department and get pumped for the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. The CREW will also be sponsoring its first monthly movie night of the year following Jaguar Madness.

Description: Attend the Beyond the Wall poster sale to decorate your dorm or office!

Taste of Augusta

Date: Tuesday, August 21

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Location: Douglas Barnard Amphitheatre

Description: This is an interactive event that allows students, local businesses, and AU departments to connect. Students will be able to learn more about the services that are offered on campus as well as in the community. This event will feature vendors from retail, health, food, entertainment, and religious institutions.

Big Dream Gathering

Location: Jaguar Student Activity Ballroom

Description: The Big Dream Gathering is a movement of people giving themselves permission to dream and help each other to achieve their dreams. As you start your semester, learn how to find your dream and make it a reality in this inspiring and fun program!

Clubfest

Location: Douglas Barnard Amphitheatre

Description: Have you ever wanted to join a club but you don’t know what is offered at AU? Club Fest is an easy way for students to network and learn how to get involved on campus! Students will have the opportunity to learn about the various departments and student organizations here at Augusta University.

Meet & Greek

Location: JSAC Ballroom

Description: This is an opportunity to meet the Greeks! Members from fraternities and sororities will be present for you to meet and give you an in-depth look at Greek Life at Augusta University. This is a great time to ask questions and learn more about the Greek organizations and how you can join.

Student Employment Expo

Description: This event will allow you to meet the staff from the Career Services office and learn about job opportunities on campus.

The Crew's Kickoff Event: Foam Party

Description: The CREW is sponsoring a semester kickoff event- a foam party! This event is a great way to kickoff the semester with friends and have some fun!

Grad Student Night with the GreenJackets

Description: Come join us at SRP Park for a free baseball game with 60 free tickets for AU Graduate Students.

Multicultural Series: Networking at Ice Cream Sundae Sunday

Location: Oak Hall Connect Space (Health Science campus)

Description: This is a multicultural networking social opportunity that allows first year students and returning students to meet new people and make connections while enjoying delicious ice cream!

Kickback with Campus Rec

Date: Monday, August 27

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Location:   Jaguar Park (Health Science Campus Student Wellness Center)

Description: Vendors from the community will be giving out information on nutrition and outdoor recreational activities. Campus Recreational Departments will be giving out information as well. Students can also come enjoy games, free giveaways, and free food from a local food truck!

Take Over Tuesday

Date: Tuesday, August 28

Time: 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Location: JSAC Patio

Description: The CREW will be sponsoring its first bi-monthly Takeover Tuesday event on the Summerville Campus. Students can take a break in between classes to join The CREW and other student organizations. Take Over Tuesdays always feature free food, music, and games or giveaways!

NPHC Intake 101

Location: JSAC Ballroom

Description: Intake 101 is a mandatory event for any student interested in joining an NPHC organization. During the event, members of NPHC will present on university policies, intake requirements, and the best way to express interest. The event will also allow attendees to anonymously ask questions that will be answered by a panel.

Health Science Kickoff

Description: Take a break between classes and come celebrate the beginning of the semester with the Jaguar Production Crew and the Graduate Student Government Association! This event will feature delicious free food, music, and games.

Description: Your first year of college is complete! We want to celebrate this achievement and invite sophomores to join us for HOMEMADE ice cream on the University Hall patio.

Student Success Showcase

Description: Get some snacks and see how you can create the most interesting, productive, and successful college experience ever! Meet new people at this event and get the resources to help you plan your journey and realize all of your potential!

CPC Recruitment Weekend

Date: September 6-9

Time: All Day

Location: JSAC Ballroom and Coffeehouse

Description: This event is mandatory for women interested in joining a Panhellenic sorority. Attendees will participate in a weekend-long formal recruitment where they will meet both Panhellenic sororities and their members. Throughout the weekend, sororities will present on: sisterhood; philanthropy; financial obligations; leadership opportunities; and other important aspects of sorority life.There is a $45 cost for this event.

Description: Come to the Study Abroad Fair to learn more information about each of our programs, both domestic and international. Meet the faculty leading the trips and hear about the detailed itineraries of each trip. After this event, you should be able to figure out which trip is right for you!
