The Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program at the Augusta University is a multidisciplinary program that manages all types of diseases that affect the pulmonary blood vessels. These include pulmonary hypertension (PH) of all causes, pulmonary embolism (PE), pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM) and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT).
The program is directed by Dr. James R. Gossage, who has been managing patients with pulmonary vascular disease since 1988. The program also includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and support staff that allows us to manage even the most complex patient. Dr. Gossage has treated patients with HHT since 1995 and has been active in the HHT scientific community since 2000. He has also served as Medical Director of the HHT Foundation International since 2008.
Our primary missions are to provide excellent patient care and education, and to promote further understanding of pulmonary vascular diseases through research. We make the following commitments to each patient we see:
