Established in 1996, the mission of the AU Ryan White outreach program has always been to provide early intervention and linkage to care for persons newly diagnosed with HIV. Early detection and treatment are key factors to living with HIV/AIDS and prevention of transmission to others. Thanks to advances in treatment, those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS can now live long and productive lives with proper and regular treatment and adherence.

The mission of this initiative is to provide our patients, with itemized needs that they might not otherwise be able to afford or obtain. It is easy to focus on medicine at a medical-level and some forget that patients' lives do not stop when they walk out of our doors. Needs can include clothes, home-goods, school supplies, non-perishable food items, furniture, and other similar items. Please contact rawells@augusta.edu with any questions, comments or concerns.
