TEACHING WITH SIMULATION IN MEDICAL EDUCATION
This course teaches the fundamentals of simulation that includes background and purpose behind simulation specifically as it relates to pre-briefing, case development and delivery, debriefing and assessment. Designed for faculty teaching with simulation for learners at any level.
DEVELOPING A MEDICAL SIMULATION CASE
This course guides the learner through the purpose and design of a simulation case. The learner will utilize the MCG Educational Simulation Case Template to develop a case, with the goal of understanding the educational and operational considerations when developing a simulation case. Designed for faculty teaching with simulation for learners at any level.
RUNNING A MEDICAL SIMULATION
This course will be an introduction to the functions of the simulator, the basics of programming the mannequin and hands-on experience in running a medical simulation. The learners will walk away with the confidence in being able to run a medical simulation. Designed for faculty teaching with simulation for learners at any level.
DEBRIEFING IN MEDICAL SIMULATION
This course teaches the goals, educational construct, theory and practical applications of debriefing in the simulated setting. Learners will be able to practice basic debriefing techniques and learn about the debriefing tool utilized by MCG Educational Simulation. Designed for faculty teaching with simulation for learners at any level.
ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION IN MEDICAL EDUCATION
This course will introduce the participants to a wide range of topics related to the design, development, and implementation of individual assessment instruments and program evaluations in educational simulations. This course is designed for faculty who are engaged in educational simulations with any level of learners.
